Paseo Verde is a Transit Oriented Development with a mixed-use program centered on affordable and market-rate workforce housing with supporting retail, office space, community services and parking. A decade-long planning effort created the revitalization of an existing urban neighborhood through the redevelopment of a 1.9-acre remediated brownfield site. Located immediately adjacent to the SEPTA Regional Rail corridor at Temple University Station, the system’s busiest station outside of Center City Philadelphia, Paseo Verde has attained the highest levels of LEED for Homes and LEED for Neighborhood Development certification.  The site now provides affordable, high quality, sustainable housing for a variety of income levels. Retail and commercial spaces activate the wide, tree-lined sidewalks while a series of three to four story resident towers above are interspersed with green roof amenity spaces for the rental apartments. The project aims to serve as a model for the sustainable re-development in inner city neighborhoods.
