BRIDESBURG RIVERFRONT PARK,  Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Located on the Delaware River, the Bridesburg Riverfront Park will be the latest link along the greenway trail of Northeast Philadelphia. Nearly reclaimed by nature, the lush, overgrown site is situated on an abandoned concrete plant within a thriving industrial corridor. The park proposes walking trails and overlooks from its wilder upland meadow as well as a great lawn area that is served by a picnic & stage pavilion and restrooms facilities. Composed of perforated stainless-steel panels, painted wide flange steel and concrete, the pavilions evoke the site’s existing industrial context and celebrates the iconic Betsy Ross Bridge that can be seen from nearly every corner of the site. The Bridesburg Riverfront Park serves as a keystone in connecting the community of Bridesburg not only with their waterfront, but also their industrial heritage.
