SITIO was recently named a Finalist for the Lake / Kezdie development project in Chicago. As part of a focus on design excellence, the Chicago Department of Planning and Development invited architecture and developer firms to re-envision 3 mixed-use buildings near the Kedzie / Lake Green ‘L’ station. This significant commercial corridor is part of the South/West Initiative that looks to promote development and spur investment in the historically neglected West Side. THE ASTRID PROJECT HITS CONSTRUCTION MILESTONE
SITIO’s project, The Astrid in Bethesda, Maryland, is hitting a construction milestone as it nears the final pours completing the concrete podium and 3 levels of below-grade parking garage. Next up - 10 floors on each of the two towers which will start the construction of 562 multi-family residential units.
SITIO RECASTS THE COBBS CREEK RECREATION CENTER
SITIO presented design concepts for the revisioning of the Johnny Sample Recreation Center at Cobbs Creek during a public enegagement session last week in West Philadelphia. Developed by the Fairmount Park Conservancy for the City of Philadelphia’s Rebuild initiative, the new renovation and addition transforms the center into a beacon of light in the neighborhood, combining transparency and daylight with community programs for both children and adults. Located alongside Cobbs Creek, the updated center will offer indoor and outdoor amenities that reconnect the community and this uniquely bucolic park with access to trails along the historic creek.
SKYLINE WEST PROJECT RECEIVES UNANIMOUS APPROVAL FROM BETHLEHEM HISTORIC BOARD
The Bethlehem Historic and Architectural Review Board unanimously approved a certificate of appropriateness for the ‘Skyline West’ multi-family residential building in downtown Bethlehem - the local news article can be found here. SITIO welcomes Tong Niu to the team! Tong is originally from Xi'an, China, and has been living and working in Philadelphia since receiving a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Tong’s experience includes health care, residential, commercial, and mix-use projects where she has focused on combining creative concepts with practical design solutions. In her spare time, Tong enjoys throwing pigments on canvas and playing tennis - she just started learning and is looking for some tips!

A graduate from Jefferson University, Olivia held the position of Vice President at the University’s chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students. SITIO welcomes Giovanni Fuentes to the team! As an architectural designer, Gio brings experience in mixed-use, commercial, and complex institutional projects. Through these projects he has focused on design and the collaboration of the interconnected disciplines. Growing up in the Lehigh Valley, Gio knew from the age of 5 that building and tinkering was his passion when he received his first Lego set. He attended Moravian college for engineering and continued to Temple where he received a Master of Architecture. In his spare time, you’ll catch him competing on the baseball field or racing on the Poconos Raceway in a car he built!
