What makes your business different from other similar businesses?
The name of our firm, SITIO, hints at the core values that drive our practice. In Spanish, SITIO means place. SITIO also means site, and it is usually used as a word that connotes strategy, specifically as it pertains to the relationship between a site and its broader context. To us that context is multidimensional. It is of course physical and economic, as it is also cultural and personal. Our work strives to make connections, to leverage resources, and to help make other things happen. It also strives to establish a personal connection, so that people can feel that the site - or place - is their own. Our firm approaches that objective through design - the process that can synthesize the many factors that shape our buildings and spaces, and hence structures the way we live. In that aim we are a mission-driven business, seeking to engage and serve other mission and vision driven businesses and organizations.
